New US-related AIDS case in Melbourne

A case of AIDS has been confirmed by doctors at Melbourne’s St Vincent’s hospital. At the time of going to press it is believed that the announcement of an additional fourth case at Prince Henry’s is imminent.

The incubation period for AIDS is said to be up to two years.

Call for national taskforce as 19 AIDS cases feared

A call for a national symposium of doctors to discuss acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) has been made by Sydney’s homosexuals following the disclosure of at least 19 suspected cases of the incurable and generally fatal illness in Australia.
