NZ AIDS victim dies

New Zealand’s first AIDS victim has died. The man, a 30-year-old homosexual, was transferred to New Plymouth from Sydney Hospital in February to be near his family. He lost 22 kg since contracting the illness and a recent miningeal infection “proved too much” for him, hospital superintendent Dr Donald King said. — Daily Telegraph (Sydney), 4 April 1984.
